That screen above is the whole app most days. Not a list of groups to open — who owes you, who you owe, and how much, across every group at once. Most of the time you never have to tap anything.
Adding an expense
One screen. It knows what dinner is.
Type “Rewe” and it picks Groceries. Type “Taxi” and it picks Transport. It reads English and German, and it learns from the categories you actually choose — so it gets better at your habits rather than someone else’s.
Split equally, by exact amounts, by percentage, or by shares. Paid for something you had no part in? It doesn’t insist you were involved.
Settling up
Fewer payments, not more.
Three people owing each other in a circle is one payment, not three. DiviSum reduces a group’s debts to the smallest number of transfers that settles everybody.
It records who paid whom. No money moves through the app, and there is no payment provider in the middle.
Groups
A trip should not look like a flatshare.
Tell it what kind of group you are making — a trip, a home, a couple, an event — and it draws itself. You find the right one in a list by its colour, before you have read a single word.
Trust
Nothing changes quietly.
Every expense, edit, deletion and payment lands in one activity feed, with a name and a time against it.
Delete something by mistake and you have thirty days to undo it yourself. After that it takes agreement from the people that expense actually involved. Nobody gets to rewrite a bill from three months ago that you already paid.
What is not in it
The list of things an app like this usually has, and this one does not.
No premium tier
Nothing is held back for one. There is no upgrade screen because there is nothing to upgrade to.
No ads, no ad SDK
Not disabled — absent. There is no advertising identifier in the app at all.
No usage analytics
Nothing records which screens you open or what you tap. Crash reports are the only diagnostics, and they carry no ledger data.
No payment processing
DiviSum records who paid whom. Money moves between you however it already did.
Data stays in the EU
Hosted in Frankfurt. Only members of a group can read that group’s expenses, enforced in the database rather than in the app.
Deletion you can actually do
Delete your account from the Account tab. It takes effect immediately, without emailing anyone and waiting.
